Jesus in the eyes of the one He loved

When going through the book of John, there are 329 descriptions of Jesus Christ that I got from the disciple whom Jesus loved. I encourage you to read through this Gospel and take down all the descriptions that you can find.

  72. Knows our deepest secrets before we even say them aloud

  74. He cares about who you are and the way you live rather than what your name is and what you’ve accomplished.

  75. He likes those who are honest with themselves in worship.

  76. He is coming back

  77. He talks to sinners

  78. He talks to strangers

  79. He knows everything you’ve done.

  80. He knows you inside and out.

  81. He wants us to look at what’s right in front of us.

  82. He spends time with those who desire to spend time with Him.

  83. He’s the Savior of the world

  84. Disrespected by those closest to him

  85. Prophet

  86. He is impressive

  87. Great physician

  88. Instant healer

  89. Respects government authority

  90. God’s love trumps religious traditions

  91. Humble

  92. Believes spiritual healing is far greater than emotional or physical healing

  93. He takes no off days

  94. The Great Example

  95. Controls everyone-no one can do anything unless the Father allows it

  96. Raises the dead

  97. Creator of life

  98. Includes everyone

  99. Judges everyone fairly

  100. Chooses who will be honored

  101. Made Jesus equal to Him

  102. Appears to be an outsider, when He’s actually the main insider.

  103. The sound of His voice is more powerful that any earthly sound

  105. He doesn’t do anything for His own way

  107. He has work for you to do

  108. He wants to send you

  109. He wants you to hear His message from His messenger

  110. He doesn’t receive crowd approval

  114. He has given us evidence of His reality through the prophets

  115. He craves to feed the hungry

  116. He asks questions for us to answer with the purpose of strengthening our faith.

  117. He is not wasteful

  118. He is at work among His people so we can benefit and see Him.

  119. He values time alone with us

  120. He comforts those who are afraid

  121. He is our Master

  122. He wants you to commit your life to Him.

  123. He gives us the freedom to choose Him

  124. He is trustworthy.

  125. He takes our brokenness and makes us whole.

  126. He is in charge

  127. He is responsible for us drawing near to Jesus

  128. He keeps the end in mind and wants us to do the same.

  129. He teaches where we can learn with our own eyes and hear with our own ears.

  130. He will give you eternal life if you believe in Him.

  131. He walked this earth; flesh and blood.

  132. He enters into us when we choose to follow Him.

  133. He makes life.

  134. He sees our weak faith and weak minds and meets us where we are at for a better understanding.

  135. He likes when we ask Him questions for a bette understanding of Him.

  136. He gives the gift of understanding.

  137. He tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

  138. He loves those even knowing they will betray Him.

  139. He makes saving people His business; everything else is secondary.

  140. He works behind the scenes instead of in the spotlight.

  141. He knows the evil behind pretensions.

  142. A lot of people talk about Him, but not a lot of people sign on with Him.

  143. He encourages us to test teachings.

  144. He speaks only facts.

  145. He is authentically right.

  146. Our true origin is in God.

  147. He provides convincing evidence.

  148. We can’t find where is He is right now, even if we tried.

  149. He is glorified among believers.

  150. He guarantees a spring of life for those who thirst.

  151. The leaders do not believe in Him.

  152. His believers are often thought of as ignorant.

  153. He is often tried in order to be proven wrong.

  154. He talks to sinners.

  155. You walk confidently when walking with Him because you are walking in the light.

  156. His word is true

  157. He doesn’t make judgements based on what He can see and touch.

  158. He doesn’t make judgements based on experiences, but based on His wisdom that we will never know here on earth.

  159. He gives us two major testimonies: Jesus and the Word

  160. He is in touch with what’s beyond the horizon; away from the mundane.

  161. When we question righteousness, we question God.

  162. He gives freedom in truth.

  163. Our Father is more valuable than our earthly father.

  164. He wants us to carry on the family heredity and do things as He does.

  165. If we love Him, we will obey Him.

  166. We only know Him if we first love Him and His ways.

  167. He says if you can’t understand Him, you are serving the devil.

  168. He is not selfish.

  169. Gods plans are glorious and grand.

  170. He is going to spare us death.

  171. He is greater than the prophets.

  172. He does not look for blame, but value in people.

  173. He can do anything in anyone.

  174. He opens our eyes

  175. He is not intimidated.

  176. God isn’t at the beck and call of sinners.

  177. He listens carefully anyone who lives in reverence and does His will.

  178. He finds those who are persecuted for their faith.

  179. We can know God with His voice.

  180. He came into the world to bring everything into clear light of day.

  181. He made everything clear by sending Jesus to the earth.

  182. He gives sight to the blind, allowing them to see their sins for what they are.

  183. He sees value in the process.

  184. He is our Shepherd.

  185. He opens the gate for us.

  186. He calls me His own.

  187. He calls me by name.

  188. He leads.

  189. He speaks to us in ways we understand.

  190. He speaks to us in ways that will make sense later.

  191. He is the gate.

  192. He is the real deal.

  193. He sent the gate to save us.

  194. Good Shepherd

  195. Life-giver

  196. He wants us to be full.

  197. Sacrifice

  198. Our owner; he posses us.

  199. He is the unifier.

  200. His voice is one worth listening to.

  201. He loves His only Son.

  202. From a worldly standpoint, he’s crazy: in word, action and thought.

  203. He is constantly challenged and questioned.

  204. He speaks plainly to us.

  205. He does works in the Father’s name.

  206. He will never allow us to die.

  207. He is greater than anyone.

  208. The Father and the Son are one.

  209. The truths He speaks makes the majority angry.

  210. He calls reason for persecution  “good things.”

  211. He claims that Scripture is always true.

  212. The works of Jesus are the works of the Father.

  213. God was in Jesus when He was on earth.

  214. He has good friends he loved.

  215. Compassionate: He hurts when our bodies grow weak even though he knows the good that is coming.

  216. Disciple’s guide

  217. Healer by presence or mention of His name.

  218. Giver of anything His children ask.

  219. The resurrection.

  220. His spirit sometimes gets sad and troubled around our seasons of sorrow.

  221. Miracle Worker

  222. Beneficiary

  223. He puts up boundaries

  224. He surrounded Himself with likeminded Christians

  225. Not of the world

  226. Comes to our home when we invite Him.

  227. Deserves the best we have.

  228. Devalues money.

  229. Praises those who look ahead to the big picture.

  230. Warns that people will persecute you because you love Him.

  231. Minimalist.

  232. Glorified.

  233. Encourages us to bury this life with joy because the eternal is better.

  234. Wants us to serve Him by following Him.

  235. Rewarder

  236. When He is shaken, He looks to God’s glory.

  237. He speaks for us, specifically.

  238. Attracts followers.

  239. The Light that keeps us from darkness.

  240. Sees what our blindness cannot.

  241. His glory overflows.

  242. His glory overpowers human approval.

  243. Not a rejector.

  244. His commands produce real, eternal life.

  245. He loves His companions dearly

  246. He speaks to convict regardless of how its received

  247. In charge of everything

  248. Serves in times of sadness

  249. Encourages our patience

  250. Concern for holiness

  251. Master

  252. Sets patterns for us to follow

  253. Gets emotional when we betray Him

  254. Convicts without publicly shaming

  255. The Great Revealer

  256. Where He is, we are not yet able to go.

  257. His love doesn’t look like the world’s love.

  258. He has plenty of room for us in His house.

  259. He’s coming back for us

  264. We share the same mission as Him

  280. Exposes the error of the godless world’s view of sin, righteousness, and judgement.

  281. Only gives us what we can handle when we can handle it

  282. Doesn’t draw attention to Himself

  283. He takes from Jesus and delivers it to us.

  284. Giver of Wisdom

  285. Turns sadness into joy

  286. Knowledge of everything

  287. Conqueror of the World

  288. Display of Bright Splendor

  289. In charge of every human

  290. One and Only

  291. Our possessor

  292. Holy Father

  293. Guard

  294. One Heart

  299. Searched out for righteous and unrighteous motives

  324. Gives rich blessings to those who believe without seeing

  326. Provides in order for us to provide
